Qld’s recent high flying record label Strange Pulse’ has just seen the release of their debut compilation CD ‘Loud Like Enemies’. The disc contains 18 rock, punk , pop, melodic tracks.

Naturally, I’m not going to name all eighteen bands on this CD. This being such an awesome disc, especially for a debut, It’s gonna be hard to nail my favourite tracks and bands. But, it has to be done, and I must say, Australia’s own THE VAGRANTS have done it for me this time. Closely followed by Texas rockers ULTIMATE FAKE BOOK with this track taken off their new CD ‘Open up & Say Awesome’.

Again our own have taken gold. The Australian Music variety on this disc is fantastically compiled together with more rockN artists like Last Years Hero and Bullet the Blue Sky made me sit up and take notice.

The CD is opened up with a band called Caillac Blindside, their guitar driven riffs has made this a catchy first song. Both Mooneen and Lucky 7 too make appearances here on ‘Loud Like Enemies’ punching out their melodic/ pop/ punk soundings that give this CD an easy listening feel. Makeshift3, was not to bad band to close the compilation with, however a closure with a bang always goes down well.

Fantastic effort for a debut compilation and I give it *** stars out of *****
