Review By Kath Touchwood - The Great City
Article By Kath on Jul 23, 2002

I've been getting heaps of CDs sent to me lately by some amazing bands all around Australia, keep em coming!

Touchwood are a Sydney based vocal trio who certainly do not follow the trail of what's hip and cool at the moment and just do their own thing.

Their CD "The Great City" is an eclectic mix of everything from Medieval, to folk, to unusual pop covers.
Vocally driven, their harmonies are flawless and their instrumentation includes the Lute and something called a Vihuela (which is a reconstruction of an early guitar.)

Originals mixed with old Medieval folk songs mixed with quirky covers. The covers include Downtown Train, Prince's When Dove's Cry, The Hunter's Throw your Arms Around Me and Cyndi Lauper's classic Time After Time. I must admit I loved hearing that song again!

The CD has something for everyone and is for the music lover with discerining taste, not for fans of Holly Valance!
