The lineup is:
Sam Harris – Guitar & vocals
Joel Boucher – Bass Guitar
Adam Hockey – Drums
Dan Luton – Percusion
"Not really, it does seem to be getting better though. Places like The Pot Belly keep the local scene going and things like the Uni comp are well supported. We’re playing at Stonefest this year which is huge, so there are opportunities around.".
"This year we decided to take things seriously and all moved in together to a house in Sutton to form Little Smoke. The pressures of the band were tough on relationships, so Mal left and Ad got a divorce! My stepbrother Joel, who was also living in Sutton, joined the band as the new bass player to replace Mal."
"The current lineup is about 6 months old but Little Smoke was launched at The Falls Festival over New Year."
"Not the big smoke. It’s related to coming from Sutton, which is definetely the little smoke."
"Folky rock pop?"
"We organised an environmental festival out at Badja state forest to create awareness in the local community about the logging of Old Growth Forests. There was a truly awesome feeling that night, a huge electrical storm rolled in at the climax of the performance. Apart from that, the Falls Festival and winning the ACT finals of the campus band comp this month."
"I had a very diverse musical upbringing, my Dad owned Impact Records and played in bands. The house was filled with music that no-one had ever heard of. Ad had a country music childhood which he rebelled against early, playing in thrash bands around Sydney. Jole’s youth and Dan’s enthusiasm brought a range of different influences to the band."
"Space Is Dead released a CD almost 5 years ago. Since then, Little Smoke have done some demos and have a 6 track in the works. We’ve got heaps of songs that need to be recorded, we just need money to do it."
"It was really good to see all the local student bands rockin’ at their hardest and it was really well supported. Competition doesn’t really seem fair though, when there was so much diversity amongst the bands, any one of which could have won. We’re flying off to Melbourne for the finals at The Corner Hotel on Thursday October 24."
"APRA sponsered an extra stage and after hearing our demo they rang up and asked us to play! Ungkas, the firebreathing winners of last years Uni comp went off! It was also really good to see the John Butler Trio again."
"There was no way they’d let us backstage so we camped on the hill with the natives where the action was."
"John Butler Trio, Midnight Oil and Ben Harper."
"Machine Gun Felatio at the ANU, a free gig with locals Penguin the other week."
"The new Queens of the stone age one."
"It’s too hard to say."
"Hopefully making a living out of out music and being more able to support the issues we really believe in."
"Yep, it’s littlesmoke.com."
O.K have you got any words to sum up Little Smoke?
"Hopeful, green and commited."
green and commited."
